Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern your subscription to and use of Faith Essentials, including the website at faithessentials.online, the student portal at portal.almaghrib.org/fe/, the Faith Essentials app, and any associated landing pages and services. By signing up you agree to be bound by these Terms.

 

1. Parties and Definitions

“Faith Essentials,” “we,” “us,” or “our” refers to AlMaghrib Institute, 2323 Clear Lake City Blvd, Suite 180-290, Houston, TX 77062, United States, operator of Faith Essentials.

“Member,” “you,” or “your” refers to the individual who has created an account. The “Account Owner” is the member whose payment method is charged and who is solely responsible for all account activity.

“Content” refers to all video courses, lectures, PDFs, course notes, live sessions, and any other material made available through Faith Essentials.

 

2. Subscription Plans

Faith Essentials is a subscription-based service offering access to 40+ on-demand Islamic courses, course notes, and instructor-led sessions. Two plan types are available:

Annual plan: billed as a single yearly payment. Provides full access to all Faith Essentials content for 12 months. The annual plan includes a 30-day money-back guarantee as described in Section 6.

Monthly plan: billed in monthly instalments. Provides full access to all Faith Essentials content and continues until cancelled. The monthly plan is structured as a series of monthly payments, not a fixed-term contract. It can be cancelled at any time before the next billing date.

Auto-renewal:  Both plans renew automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date. By subscribing you authorize AlMaghrib to charge your payment method on a recurring basis at the applicable plan rate. You will receive advance notice of any price changes before they take effect.

 

3. Account Registration and Access

To use Faith Essentials you must create an account with a valid email address and password. Your account is for your personal use only and may not be shared, sold, or used by any other person. Any indication of account sharing will result in immediate cancellation without refund.

If you have previously unsubscribed from all AlMaghrib communications, you may not receive your login details automatically. It is your responsibility to contact faith.essentials@almaghrib.org to ensure you have access after subscribing. Refunds will not be issued where login details were not received but no attempt was made to contact support before requesting a refund.

 

4. Billing and Payment

Billing cycle: annual members are charged once per year on the anniversary of sign-up. Monthly members are charged on the same calendar day each month. In some cases payment dates may shift due to billing cycle differences or payment processing.

Payment method: all payments are processed online by credit card or VISA debit. To update your payment method, contact faith.essentials@almaghrib.org. If a scheduled payment fails, AlMaghrib may suspend your access to the service until a valid payment method is provided. You remain responsible for any amounts outstanding at the time of suspension.

Pricing: current subscription prices are displayed at the time of sign-up. AlMaghrib reserves the right to change pricing at any time, with notice provided to active members by email at least 14 days before a price change applies at renewal.

 

5. Cancellation

You may cancel your Faith Essentials subscription at any time by emailing faith.essentials@almaghrib.org. Following cancellation, your access to Faith Essentials content continues until the end of your current billing period, after which your account will close. Cancellation stops future billing — it does not delete your account or personal data.

To request deletion of your account and personal data, see Section 14.

 

6. Refund Policy

Payments made to Faith Essentials are non-refundable except as set out below. No refunds or credits are issued for partial subscription periods, unviewed content, or unused access.

Annual plan  30-day money-back guarantee: if you subscribed to the annual plan and are not satisfied, you may request a full refund within 30 days of your initial payment by emailing faith.essentials@almaghrib.org. This guarantee applies to first-time annual subscribers only.

Monthly plan: payments under the monthly plan are non-refundable. You may cancel at any time to stop future billing, but no refund will be issued for the current or any prior monthly payment.

United Kingdom statutory right of withdrawal: if you are a UK consumer, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a subscription contract within 14 days of sign-up under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. This right is waived once you begin accessing the content. By accessing any Faith Essentials course you expressly request that the service begins immediately and acknowledge that your right of withdrawal is lost from that point.

Approved refunds will be processed to your original payment method within 14 working days.

 

7. Content Licence and Restrictions

AlMaghrib grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and view Faith Essentials Content for your own personal educational use. You must not:

• Download, record, screenshot, or screen-capture Content except through features explicitly provided by the platform
• Share, distribute, republish, sell, or make Content available to any third party
• Use Content for commercial purposes, group teaching, or public performance without written consent
• Remove any copyright notice or proprietary marking from Content

8. Third-Party Partners and Content

Faith Essentials may feature content or partnerships with third-party organisations, including Wahed and other Islamic service providers. Third-party partner content is made available for your benefit but is provided under the third party’s own terms. AlMaghrib does not accept liability for the accuracy, availability, or conduct of third-party partners. Any transactions or relationships you enter into with third-party partners are between you and that partner directly.

 

9. Lead Generation and Quiz

Faith Essentials may collect your email address through lead generation tools including the confidence quiz at go.faithessentials.online and other landing pages, prior to purchase. By submitting your email through any Faith Essentials page you consent to receiving communications from AlMaghrib regarding Faith Essentials and other AlMaghrib products. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by contacting info@almaghrib.org.

 

10. Operational Communications

Emails relating to your account, billing, and course access are essential to your participation in Faith Essentials and cannot be unsubscribed from while your account is active. To manage your communication preferences, contact faith.essentials@almaghrib.org.

 

11. Acceptable Use and Conduct

You must use Faith Essentials in a manner consistent with Islamic etiquette and AlMaghrib’s values. You must not use the platform for any unlawful purpose, post offensive or harmful content in any community feature, attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform, or use automated tools to access or scrape Content.

 

12. Content Disclaimer

The views, opinions, and content expressed in Faith Essentials courses are those of the individual instructors and do not necessarily represent the official position of AlMaghrib Institute. Course content is intended for personal religious education and does not constitute legal, financial, medical, or professional advice.

 

13. Account Termination

AlMaghrib may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms, shared account use, non-payment, or conduct incompatible with AlMaghrib’s values. Where termination is for breach, no refund will be issued.

 

14. Account Deletion and Data

To request full deletion of your account and personal data, email faith.essentials@almaghrib.org with “Account Deletion Request” in the subject line. Financial and payment records are retained for the period required by applicable law regardless of account deletion.

 

15. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, AlMaghrib’s total liability in connection with Faith Essentials is limited to the subscription fees paid in the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. AlMaghrib is not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be excluded by applicable law. Your statutory rights are not affected.

 

16. Consumer Rights

United Kingdom: the Consumer Rights Act 2015 applies. Digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. The Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 right of withdrawal applies as set out in Section 6. Nothing in these Terms removes UK statutory rights.

Canada: applicable provincial consumer protection legislation applies. Nothing in these Terms removes statutory rights under Ontario’s Consumer Protection Act 2002 or Quebec consumer protection legislation.

California: California residents have rights under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA. AlMaghrib does not sell personal information. Contact info@almaghrib.org with “California Privacy Request” in the subject line.

Texas: Texas residents have rights under the TDPSA (effective July 2024). Contact info@almaghrib.org with “Texas Privacy Request” in the subject line.

 

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States. For UK consumers, the laws of England and Wales apply and UK consumer protection legislation governs. For Canadian consumers, applicable provincial law applies.

 

18. Changes to These Terms

AlMaghrib may update these Terms at any time. For material changes affecting active members, notice will be given by email at least 14 days before changes take effect. Current Terms are always available at faithessentials.online/terms-policies/.

The EU’s General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) take effect May 25th, and we are fully behind the spirit of these regulations for a safe and secure Internet. We aspire to embrace privacy by design and, whenever possible, to not collect and store personally-identifiable information.

Our Privacy Policy contains mentions of the few instances where personally-identifiable information is required. Typically this will include an email address in order to log in to AlMaghrib Institute or a social network username in order to manage your account.

Overall, we aim for privacy by default: if data collection is not integral to the way our product works, then we won’t collect it. This approach has felt very much in line with the spirit of GDPR, and we’re fortunate that a lot of these data collection practices have been in place at AlMaghrib Institute for some time. As such, you may see few banners or forms requesting consent for us to collect personally-identifiable information for tracking or other purposes. We don’t deem this information necessary to provide AlMaghrib Institute’s service to you, and we choose not to engage in activities and strategies that make this data relevant.

At any time, you may request your information to be exported and sent to you for review, and we promptly honor any requests by you to have your information deleted and forgotten.

Data Mapping

We are auditing all areas of AlMaghrib Institute to determine what personal data we collect and for what purpose. In a case where collecting personal data is not essential, we are removing that collection process.

Privacy Policy

We updated our privacy policy to include appropriate terms and language so it’s easy to understand, and that it communicates clearly any instances of personal data collection.

Cookies

We will add a cookie notice to all marketing pages and blogs in order to comply with the E-Privacy Directive. We do not collect personally-identifiable information with our cookies, but we do want to acknowledge the use of cookie technology on our website.

Deletion

A user has the right to request that we delete all of their personal data. Users who wish to inquire about the right to be forgotten will be able to reach out to us at any time.

Access / Portability

A user can request access to a copy of the personal data that we have collected. Users who wish to request portability can reach out to us at any time.

Modification

In AlMaghrib Institute, if a user asks to change their information, we can do so within our admin portal. If a user has a modification to make, they can reach out to us at info@almaghrib.org.

Sub-processors

We commit to displaying a list of all current sub-processors in use by AlMaghrib Institute. A sub-processor includes any third party that we share personally identifiable information with.

This Privacy Policy explains how AlMaghrib Institute collects and uses your personal information in connection with Faith Essentials, including faithessentials.online, go.faithessentials.online, portal.almaghrib.org/fe/, and the Faith Essentials app. This Policy supplements the AlMaghrib Master Privacy Policy at almaghrib.org/policies/.

1. Who We Are

For users in the United Kingdom, AlMaghrib Foundation (registered charity number 1157315, England and Wales) is the UK data controller. Contact: info@almaghrib.org.

 

2. What We Collect

When you create an account or subscribe we collect your full name, email address, and password (stored encrypted). We collect payment information through our payment processor — we do not store full card details. During your use of the platform we collect subscription status, course access records, content progress, login activity, and any content you post in community features. We collect technical data including IP address, device type, browser, and operating system.

Lead generation: if you submit your email address through a Faith Essentials landing page or quiz (including go.faithessentials.online) before subscribing, we collect and store that email address in our marketing platform for follow-up communications. You may opt out at any time.

Abandoned cart: if you begin a checkout but do not complete it, we may collect and store your email address to follow up about your incomplete purchase.

 

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to create and manage your account; to process subscription payments and send receipts; to deliver course access and track content progress; to send account and billing communications that are essential to your membership; to send marketing communications about Faith Essentials and other AlMaghrib products where you have consented or where legitimate interests apply — you may opt out at any time by contacting info@almaghrib.org; to improve the platform through anonymous aggregated analysis; and to comply with our legal obligations.

 

4. Who We Share Your Information With

Your account and subscription information is accessible to Faith Essentials support staff. Payment information is processed by Stripe. We use ActiveCampaign for email marketing and communications. We use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Meta Pixel for website analytics and advertising attribution. We may share your information with Wahed and other third-party partners whose content appears on the Faith Essentials platform, only as necessary to deliver that content. We do not sell your personal information.

 

5. Analytics and Advertising

Faith Essentials uses Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, and Meta Pixel on its landing pages and website to measure traffic, track conversions, and attribute advertising spend. These tools may collect anonymised usage data including page visits, scroll behaviour, and ad interactions. Where required by law, consent is obtained before these tools are activated. You can manage your preferences through your browser settings or the cookie consent tool.

 

6. Data Retention

Financial and payment records are retained for five years from the transaction date, or as required by applicable tax and accounting law. Your profile, account information, and subscription records are retained for as long as your account is active, or indefinitely as part of our member records, unless you submit a written deletion request to info@almaghrib.org. If you opt out of marketing communications, your contact details will be retained as an unsubscribed record on AlMaghrib’s marketing platforms to prevent inadvertent re-contact — no further marketing communications will be sent. Opting out does not automatically delete your personal data. If you request full deletion of your personal data, we will remove it to the extent permitted by applicable law, retaining only what is legally required. If you subsequently opt back in to marketing communications, your contact details may be reactivated.

 

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information and to object to marketing. Contact info@almaghrib.org and we will respond within 30 days.

Welcome to the Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) for AlMaghrib Institute. These terms are between you and AlMaghrib Institute and govern our respective rights and obligations. Please note that our use of Almaghrib.org and App are also governed by the agreements listed below, as well as other applicable terms, conditions, limitations and requirements and you agree to them when you sign up through Almaghrib.org

Introduction

Thank you for choosing AlMaghrib ( “AlMaghrib Institute,” “we”, “us,” “our,”). By signing up to the AlMaghrib onsite courses and using the AlMaghrib services, student center and software applications (using the services of AlMaghrib Institute altogether), or using materials and content provided by AlMaghrib (the additional resources) you are entering into a binding contract with AlMaghrib Institute.

Right to use Content:

We are granting you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license for you to view, print or watch any content as defined below from all the services provided by AlMaghrib Institute. You are not granted the right to license, republish, distribute, copy, sublicense, sell, download or prepare any derivative of the work used on the AlMaghrib website, portal or any of our application.

STUDENT EMAIL IS BASED ON ONE USER PER ACCOUNT, AND THEREFORE CANNOT BE SHARED, SOLD, DISTRIBUTED, OR USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH ANY OTHER PARTIES APART FROM YOURSELF. ANY INDICATION OF IT BEING SHARED, SOLD, DISTRIBUTED, OR USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH ANY OTHER PARTIES APART FROM YOURSELF WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE CANCELLATION OF YOUR SUBSCRIPTION.

Student Rights and Responsibility

Once signed up, students are expected to fulfill and abide by all the following registration requirements and policies listed below. Failure to do so may result in the individual being dropped from the class without a refund. Strict adherence to these policies helps alleviate classroom interruptions, misconduct, and congestion. AlMaghrib Institute commends you on your quest for knowledge and is confident that students will respect both the knowledge and the instructor.

Registration Policy

Students must register using their full legal name and provide accurate information, which may need to be validated with their photo ID. Each student is required to have a unique email address upon registering not shared with another student. Any duplicate emails will result in an incomplete registration.

Individuals are not allowed to enter or attend (sit in) the class without registration and payment.

All pricing for Almaghrib classes are subjected to change due to the dynamic nature of our business. The published price is excluding price hike.

The published price does not include any travel, accommodation, living expenses that the student may incur in attending unless specifically mentioned on the Booking form or Qabeelat email. Each Qabeelat has a pricing difference according to the country of origin and subjected to a late and registration fee listed under Payment Option.

Tuition and Late Fees

The regular tuition for a double-weekend seminars are: $145 USD, $145 CAD, 950 SKK, 950 DKK, 350 RM, 180 SGD, €95 and £85. For a single-weekend seminar, regular tuition is $85 USD, $85 CAD, 550 SKK, 550 DKK, 270 RM, 115 SGD, €67 and £57.

Tuition is subject to late fees when paid after the Wednesday (midnight EST) before the seminar begins. The late fees for a single-weekend seminar are $10 US, $10 CAD, £10, RM30, S$10, 100 SKK, 100 DKK and €10.

For a double-weekend seminar the late fees are $20 US, $20CAD, £10, 50RM, 15 SGD, 100 SKK, 100 DKK, and €10.

Students must pay the complete tuition by the first day of the seminar at the latest. Failure to do so may prevent students from being admitted into the seminar and/or receiving seminar materials.

Crew Card

At the beginning of each year, core crew members students have the opportunity to purchase a Crew Card granting them an unlimited number of free onsite seminars and a series of discounts with all AlMaghrib programs and products. The Crew Card is non-transferable and non-refundable. For more information and to volunteer, speak to your local team.

Methods of Payment

Seat confirmation is guaranteed only after payment is made and will be based on a first PAY first serve basis. Students are highly encouraged to pay online by credit card once they have created their own MyAlMaghrib profile: http://my.almaghrib.org

Note: Payment for students who pay by mail must be received by the Wednesday before the start of the seminar; the payment must be postmarked no later than the Monday before the start of the seminar.

Students paying onsite must bring the course amount plus late fees via money order (payable to AlMaghrib Institute), or credit card (Visa/MasterCard only). CASH WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED ONSITE. Check (cheque) will only be accepted in US/Canada.

Wristbands and Seminar Binders

Upon arrival, each paid student is provided an AlMaghrib wristband to identify them as a paid student in addition to a seminar binder. All students are requested to wear the wristband for the duration of the weekend and be prepared to present it at anytime upon request. Should a student fail to present a provided wristband, he/she will not be permitted to enter the class.

The wristband replacement fee if lost is – $3 USD/CAD or £1 The binder replacement fee if lost is – $10 USD/CAD or £5

Age Limit

The minimum age limit is 14 years old unless otherwise stated. Students must be of age by the start of the seminar.

Refunds and Transfers

Should a student not be able to attend a paid seminar, he/she is expected to inform the Office of the Registrar immediately. The student has the option to transfer the payment to a future seminar in any of the cities worldwide. Conversely, students may cancel their registration and request a refund only if they paid the regular tuition and submitted the request no later than the first day of the seminar. All refund requests are subject to a $10 or £3 administrative fee. Refund requests may be submitted here: https://my.almaghrib.org

Should a student not be satisfied with a seminar, he/she has until 3 pm of the first Saturday of the seminar to request a refund. Request for refunds after this deadline will not be approved.

There will be no refunds approved for payments made at discounted tuition rates.

There are no refunds for IlmNights (3 hour events), instead students will be given credit for the payment they made. The credit can be used for any future event or course that students want to sign up for.

Student Conduct

Students are expected to maintain Islamic adaab (etiquettes) in all interactions with fellow students, instructors, and staff members. Students who display inappropriate behavior or disrespect may be removed from the seminar.
